Gail Porter says it's 'critical' that government helps those struggling with mental health

Gail Porter has called on the government to give more help to those battling with their mental health, calling the situation "critical".

The Scottish TV presenter, 49, said people are struggling now more than ever thanks to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on the economy and jobs, with many losing their jobs or taking pay cuts.

She believes the government should invest more money into health services. Speaking on this evening's edition of Scotland Tonight, Gail said: "I think it's in a pretty critical stage at the moment and if it's going to keep going on, it will get worse.
