Manchester’s sky park will stay open until autumn 2024, it’s been confirmed, and bosses hope to make it a permanent ‘walk-through’ green space which connects Manchester to Salford and Trafford.
However, to make it a reality, the National Trust will need to secure around £20 million in funding. As the charity searches for the cash, it’s employed a landscape architect to imagine what a permanent park would look like.
And, it’s been confirmed today (July 21) that the council’s planning department has approved a bid from the charity to keep it open until the end of September 2024.
In February, the Manchester Evening News revealed that bosses hoped to keep it open until December 2024.
