Dr Atkinson say there is concern about the effect the virus will have on a patient's lungs.It's been established that many Covid patients suffer with breathing difficulties after their illness."When patients have been on the ventilator with such inflammation of the lungs, it remains to be seen what residual, long-lasting effects of the virus has on individuals," says Dr Atkinson."Certainly there is some concern that there may be some residual scarring.
