Fresh UK heatwave will see Brits bake again before summer ends with a bang

UK is heading into its third heatwave of the summer, with the Met Office once again warning that temperatures could exceed 30C in some parts of the country.

Two heatwaves have blasted the country in recent weeks, with the mercury exceeding 40C for the first time in recorded history (40.3C on July 19).

Luckily, this third bout of hot conditions shouldn't reach the wildfire-inducing highs of what has come before. Although the bank holiday won't be cold, there is the possibility for thundery conditions. A Met Office spokesperson told the Daily Star: "The coming week, before we get to the bank holiday weekend, is looking pretty warm and humid across most of the UK - particularly England and Wales. "Wednesday could see temperatures reach around 30C very locally in the east and south east of England but most places will stay at about 27C to 29C. "So it will be hot through the middle part of this week, just for quite a small portion of the country, and then it probably looks like it will cool down for the bank holiday weekend."High pressure will likely be keeping most of the UK fine and dry, but that south-eastern corner of England [is] still prone to some heavy rain and thunderstorms through the bank holiday weekend."But we're not anticipating it being a hot bank holiday weekend, most places will see temperatures down to about average so 22C to 24C for most."For the latest breaking news and stories from across the globe from the Daily Star, sign up for our newsletter by clicking here.Earlier.
