On November 24, 1991, the world last one of the greatest frontmen there had ever been - Freddie Mercury. After revealing to his millions of fans around the world that he was battling AIDS, Freddie passed away at home just 24 hours later aged just 45.
The Queen legend had kept his illness secret from everyone apart from those he was closest to in his inner circle. His bandmates were aware of his condition, along with the "love of his life", former girlfriend Mary Austin.
Fellow singer Elton John had also been told of Freddie's diagnosis and was one of the few people able to visit the iconic frontman in his final days and weeks.
