A 77-year-old woman was killed when part of the property in Old Lane, Shevington, gave way on Sunday afternoon. Emergency services were called to the scene at about 2.25pm.
Neighbours say they believe the woman was outside the house when the gable end of the building fell and she became trapped. Firefighters pulled her from the rubble, but she later died from her injuries in hospital.
