Frank Lampard has played down the impact of Manchester City’s court win as Chelsea seek to earn qualification for next season’s Champions League.
The overturning of Man City’s European ban means Chelsea no longer have the insurance policy of fifth place in the Premier League possibly being enough for them to sneak into the competition.
Coupled with their 3-0 humiliation at Sheffield United at the weekend, the Blues can now expect a nerve-shredding finale to the domestic campaign.
With fixtures against Norwich, champions Liverpool and Europa League contenders Wolves still to come in the league, Lampard said he remained focused on fighting his own club’s battles.
