An old-school comedy duo tribute act are back in town this week entertaining audiences in pursuit of pure nostalgia.Scottish variety and pantomime favourites Liam Dolan and Johnny Mac, from Kilmarnock, are “coming home” to Ayr Gaiety this Wednesday with their new show Francie & Josie– Pure Nostalgia.Francie & Josie– Pure Nostalgia is Liam and Johnny’s third instalment of the iconic Scots comedy duo, created by comedians Jack Milroy and Rikki Fulton, after previously touring with The Francie & Josie Show and The Francie & Josie Sketchbook.Showbiz stars Liam, 45, and Johnny, 43, were given the thumbs up by creators Jack and Rikki to revive the act after seeking their permission, with Jack’s late wife Mary Lee encouraging the duo - who have been friends since they were 13 and 11m - to take it on tour. And now they’re back on home turf, after performing sell-out shows in East Kilbride and Greenock last week, with not one but two shows at Ayr’s Gaiety.Liam said: “Mary passed away when she was 100 in August last year, but she was a huge supporter of us.“The show we’ve got now is the third instalment.

Johnny did the summer season in a Panto at the Gaiety and I was putting on a summer show, so it’s always a great place to come back to.“It feels like we’re coming home.
