Five residents die at Scot care home after been struck down with coronavirus

Dumfries and Galloway Care Home after testing positive for coronavirus. It is understood “more than 30” people had been affected by a Covid-19 outbreak at the Fleet Valley Care Home in Gatehouse of Fleet.

Care home bosses said coronavirus had been identified as the primary cause of death in one of the victims. A spokesperson for the home said they are deeply saddened by the losses.

A statement read: "It is with great sadness five people we support, who had tested positive for COVID-19, have now passed away. "We are aware of one of these as having COVID-19 being named as the primary cause of death with three having been transferred to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary with other complications.
