River Gryffe. William McNally was rescued from the water near Auchans Farm in Houston, Johnstone, around 6.50pm on Wednesday June 2.

The 13-year-old was rushed to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow where medics described his condition as ‘critical’ - but he sadly passed away on Saturday morning.

Tributes have poured in for William, who has been described as 'one of life's most kindest people' with 'quirky traits', following the heartbreaking news.One family member said on Facebook: "My heart is so heavy and my body feels so numb, this doesn’t feel real to even write..
