A businessman whose corner shop was selling illegal cigarettes was rumbled when one of his employees handed over the illicit goods before running out of the store.
Karzan Ibrahim Abdullah, 42, was hauled before Salford and Manchester Magistrates court last week, where he pleaded guilty to possessing and selling illicit tobacco products.
The owner of Broughton Convenience Store, on Great Cheetham Street East, was first brought to the attention of the authorities when members of the public raised concerns about the firm to Salford City Council.
