Fire crews called onboard easyJet flight on Manchester Airport runway
manchestereveningnews.co.ukFire crews have been called onboard an easyJet plane at Manchester Airport. The easyJet flight to Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt was due to take off at 11.30am this morning (Tuesday).
But fire crews were called to the runway after reports of 'possible smoke in the aircraft', according to eyewitnesses. Pictures showed firefighters onboard the plane.
A number of emergency services vehicles surrounded the aircraft. Join our WhatsApp Top Stories and Breaking News group by clicking this link. An eyewitness said passengers had to get off the plane due to 'firefighters being unable to find where the smoke has come from'.
A replacement aircraft was then arranged. A Manchester Airport spokesperson said fire crews were 'dispatched to investigate as a precaution, in line with standard procedure'.
