Final photos of Paul O’Grady see him enjoying drink and cuddling dog days before death

The final photos of TV legend Paul O’Grady before his unexpected death show him enjoying a drink at a bar with a fan and cuddling an adorable dog.

On Tuesday evening, it was announced by his partner Andre Portasio that Paul had sadly passed away at the age of 67. Andre said in his statement: “It is with great sadness that I inform you that Paul has passed away unexpectedly but peacefully yesterday evening. “We ask, at this difficult time, that whilst you celebrate his life you also respect our privacy as we come to terms with this loss. “He will be greatly missed by his loved ones, friends, family, animals and all those who enjoyed his humour, wit and compassion. “I know that he would want me to thank you for all the love you have shown him over the years.” One recent photo – understood to have been taken on 23 March – shows Paul in a bar in Edinburgh, enjoying a drink as he posed with a fan.

He wore a bright blue Ralph Lauren buttoned shirt with a grey T-shirt underneath. He was holding a drink with his left hand, while his right arm was around the shoulder of the fan, who had a big smile on his face.

Reported by The Sun, the fan in question had described Paul as a "legend" and a "lovely man". At the time, Paul was in Edinburgh on his ongoing tour with musical Annie – in which he played Miss Hannigan.The show had been at the Edinburgh Playhouse from March 21 until March 25.
