Fears of no deal Brexit are rising as Ireland insisted the UK must not be allowed to break international law, and a minister played down fears that tariffs could devastate jobs.
Boris Johnson is said to be "least willing to budge" on concessions towards a deal, with one Whitehall source describing him as the "hardest in the room" Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney warned there will be no trade deal if Boris Johnson pushes ahead with legislation that would allow Britain to break international law.
And Environment Secretary George Eustice said the car industry, which faces 10% tariffs under a no deal Brexit, would "adapt".
