Presented on Netflix's YouTube channel and introduced by Reese Witherspoon, the event raised money for World Central Kitchen and included a Zoom reunion of the cast reprising their roles from the 1991 Charles Shyer-directed comedy, including Diane Keaton, Steve Martin, Kieran Culkin, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Martin Short and George Newbern, with Ben Platt and Florence Pugh as the children all grown up.
With "Part 3" being set in 2020 amid the pandemic, Martin wore a face mask and encouraged his family to use Clorox wipes, disinfect cardboard packages and remove their shoes before entering their homes.
