'Excited' Prince Andrew 'to host Royal Lodge watch party' for new Amazon drama

Prince Andrew is said to be buzzing with anticipation for the premiere of the Amazon series 'A Very Royal Scandal,' which will star Welsh actor Michael Sheen as the Duke of York.

The show draws on Emily Maitlis' experiences in landing her notorious Newsnight interview with the Prince about the Jeffrey Epstein controversy.

The show has intrigued the Duke of York to such an extent that he's apparently planning to throw a watch party at Windsor's Royal Lodge when it airs in the UK on September 19."Andrew was very excited when Scoop came out and he's also looking forward to seeing how he's been portrayed in the new one [A Very Royal Scandal]," a source told the Sunday Express. "He's planning to watch it like everyone else with a mini viewing party [at Royal Lodge]."Despite the upcoming release of 'A Very Royal Scandal', a drama series that will feature portrayals of Prince Andrew and Princess Beatrice, sources claim the royal duo are not overly concerned. "Both Andrew and Beatrice are not so troubled by the release of this one," a source revealed."Beatrice was very troubled prior to the launch of Scoop because she thought it would ruin all the good work she had done, but it quickly became evident that the portrayal of her was respectful, so she is not in as much fear about this one [A Very Royal Scandal]."The series is based on a 2019 Newsnight episode that explored Prince Andrew's connection to the Epstein scandal and the allegations made by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, which the Duke has consistently and vehemently denied.
