Ex-GMP officer arrested in child sexual exploitation probe is bailed

Three other men held as part of the police probe have also been released pending further investigations after questioning, the force has confirmed.

It was revealed by GMP on Thursday that four men, including the former police officer, had been arrested in connection with the sexual exploitation of vulnerable young girls in Bury between 2006 and 2009. The suspects are all aged between 36 and 44 and remain in custody for questioning. The 44-year-old man is a former police officer, it has been confirmed, who was employed by Greater Manchester Police until 2011.
