Footage which has reportedly circulated on TikTok, shows the 12-year-old victim surrounded by a 'mob' of around 15 other children.
The youngster, who is remaining anonymous, identifies as non-binary. They were allegedly called a series of slurs during the attack, as those involved were also heard screaming 'go on' as the victim was pounced on, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Greater Manchester Police said enquiries are continuing into the incident and are aware of the video, which was filmed in Chorlton Park, off Mauldeth Road, near Old Trafford.
