In 2017, he signed with Sporting CP where he established himself as one of the best players in the Primeira Liga. He was named the LPFP Primeira Liga Player of the Year in both 2017–18 and 2018–19. In the latter season, he also helped Sporting win the Taça de Portugal. A senior international since 2017, Fernandes represented Portugal at the 2016 Summer Olympics and 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Manchester United and Everton held an entertaining 1-1 draw in Merseyside on Sunday afternoon. Everton got off to a flier at Goodison Park and had the ball in the back of the net after just three minutes.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin closed down David de Gea who proceeded to kick the ball at the striker. The clearance ricocheted off the 22-year-old's boot and flew into the back of the net.
United worked well to get back into the game and equalised just after the half hour mark. Bruno Fernandes, who has excelled since arriving, beat Jordan Pickford from range.
The ball dipped but it was poor from the Eveton keeper who should have done better. The second half turned into a somewhat duller affair with neither side really threatening.
