Eurovision Song Contest flop James Newman has revealed he did at least dream big before reality hit and his crushing defeat was confirmed at last weekend’s contest in Rotterdam.
The 35-year-old hopeful gave his all while flying the flag for the UK at the 2021 singing contest – but crashed out in last place after receiving zero points from the judging jury, and even more embarrassingly, zero points from the viewing public.
James faced the brutal defeat with grace as he was told he had the grand total of zero points – raising to his feet to wave to the audience who, in turn, offered a roaring chorus of sympathetic applause.
