Haaland came up against Van Dijk on two occasions during the group stages of this season’s Champions League while the Norwegian was with RB Salzburg.
Haaland scored in a 4-3 defeat at Anfield, but had very little joy when the Reds earned a 2-0 victory at Red Bull Arena. And the 19-year-old, who joined Borussia Dortmund in January, was clearly impressed by Liverpool’s imperious Dutchman.
