Emergency services swarmed a street and an air ambulance was called out after a man was hit by a car in Middleton. A coat and debris were left in the road after the serious collision on Wood Street, beside the Aldi store and Albion Inn pub.
A vehicle within the cordon had a cracked car windscreen. Emergency services raced to the incident on blue lights shortly after 1.30pm, with witnesses seeing a man 'lying in the road' after the crash before he was rushed to hospital from the scene. Amid investigation work, evidence markers were placed in the road beside debris, which also included a coat. A black car was pictured within the cordon with a cracked windscreen, before the same vehicle was then used to perform a skid test by officers from the Forensic Collision Reconstruction Unit.
Further details about the collision or condition of the man involved are yet to be confirmed by Greater Manchester Police. The Serious Collisions Investigation Unit are currently leading the investigation.
