An Aldi worker has reportedly been injured by a gang of youths who went on an alleged rampage through a Scots store. The staff member was working at Edinburgh's Hermiston Gait Aldi and is understood to have been injured as a gang of youths wreaked havoc.
The youths were reportedly trying to shoplift during the incident on the evening of Tuesday, October 17, reports Edinburgh Live.
There were unconfirmed reports the staff member was attacked. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.35pm on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, police were called to a report of a disturbance involving a small number of youths at a shop in the Cultins Road area of Edinburgh.
Enquiries are ongoing.” Aldi has been approached for comment. The alleged incident is one of several reported across the UK in recent weeks.
