Eden Hazard has admitted his first year at Real Madrid has not been what he had hoped. The ex-Chelsea attacking midfielder, who signed for the newly crowned Spanish champions last summer, has been prevented by injuries from playing his best football this campaign.
With two spells on the sidelines, Hazard has struggled to string together a decent run of games for his new club, making only 21 appearances in all competitions and scoring just once.
The Belgian suggested his joy at Real Madrid winning back La Liga from Barcelona this week after two years was tempered by his own inability to play a leading part in their success.
