Manchester United chief Ed Woodward has held an “emergency meeting” with the club’s “unimpressed” players over the European Super League saga.
The Red Devils were one of the 12 teams to join the breakaway league alongside the other Premier League “Big Six” clubs Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham, three Spanish sides and three Italian clubs.
But the announcement has been greeted with fury across the footballing world, with club legend Gary Neville left “absolutely disgusted” at his former side.
