Drunk Rangers fan called cops 'fenian c***s and spat food on police officer

Rangers fan hurled sectarian abuse and spat food at a police officer after guzzling Buckfast, a court has heard. Neil Thomson called officers “fenian c***s” outside Ibrox Stadium before Rangers took on Kilmarnock last December.

The 18-year-old from Forth, South Lanarkshire, had been stopped by officers as he continually banged into cars.Thomson, then 17, spat the food at PC Lewis Reaney immediately following his arrest.

He pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner aggravated by prejudice against sexual orientation and religion.
