Drivers could face extended journey times as roads in Lanarkshire close for maintenance work

Drivers in Lanarkshire could face extended driving times in the coming days due to roadworks.Greenhill Road at Hareshaw will be closed from Fernieshaw Road to Birniehill Road to allow Scottish Power to carry out network maintenance.The road will be closed to traffic until midnight on Saturday, December 10.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Vehicles on the north-west side of the closure wishing access to the south-east side of the closure should proceed vice versa.An 800m stretch of Daviesdyke Road in Allanton will also be closed to traffic, from Watsonfoot Road eastwards, from midnight next Sunday (December 11) until midnight on Friday, December 16.

This is to allow resurfacing work to be carried out on the carriageway.Again access for vehicles and pedestrians will be permitted where practical.Alternatively, vehicles on the east side of the closure wishing access to Daviesdyke Road should proceed via Dura Road, Allanton Road (A71), Coltness Avenue, Mill Road and Watsonfoot Road to Daviesdyke
