A driver who injured Rangers star Jermain Defoe after crashing into him has avoided jail. James Turner, 25, drove dangerously in Balashgray Road, Jordanhill, Glasgow, last September.
Turner’s BMW M4 crossed a central reservation and collided with two vehicles on the opposing carriageway. The Peugeot 308 and Land Rover Sport then collided with a Mercedes-Benz A 200.Court papers state: “caused damage to said vehicles and injury to Jermain Defoe and Nicole Leonard.”Defoe, 39, was in action that day having scored in a 5-0 win at Ibrox against Aberdeen.A trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court was set to take place in January.But Turner, of East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire, pled guilty in an accelerated hearing.He was fined £370 and received four
