Donald Trump was recruited as a Russian spy in the 1980s, it has been alleged. The sensational claims have been made by an ex-intelligence officer from the Soviet Union.Alnur Mussayev claimed The President was recruited as a KGB agent nearly 40 years ago.
Mussayev previously headed up Kazakhstan's National Security Committee.And the former spy said his job at the time of the coup - when Trump was a 40-year-old real estate developer in New York - involved "recruiting businessmen from capitalist countries".The former Kazakh intelligence chief didn't provide evidence to support his claim, which he made on Facebook, and said was achieved when Trump visited Moscow in 1987.
But The Mirror reports it has created further speculation about Trump's ties to Russia, dating back to his first visit to Moscow 38 years ago.
Trump, who was a rising star in the New York property market, travelled to the Soviet Union to explore the possibility of building a hotel in the capital.Soviet officials reportedly facilitated the trip, raising questions among intelligence analysts about whether it was a routine business opportunity or something more scandalous.
