The video shows the touching moment the medics applauded him as he left with his parents in his pram at the Vithas Hospital in Valencia, Spain.
Petru was admitted to intensive care just nine days after having been born at the same hospital in perfect health. His uncle had asymptomatic coronavirus and passed it onto his baby nephew unaware, it has been reported.
His parents Cristina and Jose rushed him to A&E where doctors diagnosed him with the virus. Petru's recovery was slow at first.
