Henderson made 12 Premier League appearances last season after taking his chance when David De Gea was forced to isolate for a period of time, after returning to Spain for the birth of his first child.
The England international was very impressive and kept the shirt once De Gea returned, but was on the bench in the Europa League final — which threw doubt on who United's first-choice goalkeeper would be next season.
