That's according to Mirror Online, as speculation over the permanent future of the 28-year-old continues to mount after his superb loan spell in East London last season.
After finding himself out of favour at Old Trafford under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Lingard headed to West Ham during the January transfer window.
It proved to be an inspired decision for the United academy graduate, as he scored nine goals and laid on five assists in 16 outings across all competitions.
