Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack has hailed the council's decision to keep their new stadium proposals "within the overall beach masterplan".
The Premiership side have been seeking a relocation from Pittodrie as the iconic north-east stadium ages, and plans for a new home at Kingsford were scrapped as a new beachfront location is instead backed.
A proposed £80million development will help generate £1billion for the city’s economy, it is claimed. Aberdeen City Council have now confirmed they will stick with plans to keep the proposed new stadia at the beach and Cormack says a collaborative approach is key to ensuring success.
The Aberdeen chief said: "We are committed to working collaboratively with the Council on the logical next steps to delivering and funding a flagship community asset that will benefit the city centre and the wider economy.
