Linlithgow Rose boss Gordon Herd hailed his side’s performance as they ended 2022 with an emphatic 5-1 win at Broxburn Athletic.Five different players found the net for the East of Scotland Premier Division leaders - who also hit the bar three times.Mark Stowe got the ball rolling with a fine finish on 18 minutes but Errol Douglas quickly replied with a header for Athletic.Calum Bremner curled home from the edge of the box on the stroke of half-time before Linlithgow found the net three more times after the break.Sean Heaver tapped home to make it 3-1 on 50 minutes before Ben Davidson’s drive added to the advantage with a late Sandy Cunningham header rounding off the scoring.A delighted Herd said: “I thought we were outstanding.
We dominated in scoring five goals and we hit the woodwork three times.“It’s the response we wanted because we didn’t really have a good December but we ended the year with a bang.“It’s probably one of our best performances since we came in, especially given we had five guys out.“The calibre of goals was brilliant.
