Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Danish police allay Rangers 'high risk' fixture fear against Brondby as they talk up travelling fans

Rangers' Europa League clash with Brondby tomorrow has been given a high-risk tag, but Danish police insist they expect no trouble.

Travelling fans have been allocated 1,400 tickets for the tie, but Copenhagen's federation anticipate a couple of thousand more Ibrox supporters will be in the city to watch Steven Gerrard 's team.

It comes after Brondby were at the centre of a riot last week after a derby against FC Copenhagen with 61 fans sought because of clashes with the police, who were forced to draw guns on the supporters.

And their fans caused a scare at the Ibrox Europa League encounter when some of their 1,600 fans tried to storm the segregation barrier at half time to get at Rangers fans.
