Steven Gerrard has ordered his Rangers stars to tread carefully on international duty to ensure they return fit and firing for a trip to Hampden.

The Ibrox boss warned departing players that commitments to their country are "not as important" as a looming Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Hibs on November 21.Gerrard watched his side come from behind to beat Ross County 4-2 on Sunday, after which several of his squad began preparing to join up with their respective international teams.

It was put to Gerrard his players are about to be involved in some highly important matches but his focus is trained on one thing only."Not as important as the semi-final," he replied."For me, bread and butter is always with your club so they've been told
