Some Dancing On Ice fans weren't happy about the new Golden Ticket twist, that allows the judges to send a contestant straight through to the next show.
Rufus Hound was the first winner of the new element brought in for the latest series, leaving him stunned. While many viewers agreed with the decision, some claimed it should have gone to a better skater or one of the pairings with the highest scores.
There were four couples higher than him on the leaderboard, including Lady Leshurr who was later confirmed for the skate-off after receiving the fewest public votes.
Now, speaking to The Mirror, judges Ashley Banjo and John Barrowman have defended the new twist - and the decision not to hand it to the obvious contestants.
