Daizen Maeda has revealed Kyogo talked him into signing for Celtic while the two were on Japan duty together. And now he's officially a Celtic player, he's vowed to be even better than his countryman.
Ange Postecoglou knows the J-League well and recruited Kyogo from Vissel Kobe in the summer. He's been a smash-hit with 16 goals already, so there was much excitement when Maeda was brought in alongside fellow Japanese stars Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi.
But Maeda isn't settling for playing second fiddle as he's vowed to outshine Kyogo in green and white.He revealed Kyogo talked him into the move when the two were on Japan duty together and he's now hoping to make an even bigger splash in Glasgow.He said in an interview with Celtic TV:
