Hundreds gathered initially in the city centre at lunchtime - with placards, flags and banners expressing solidarity to Palestinians after 11 days of conflict with Israel prior to a ceasefire which began on Friday.
Organisers from Manchester Palestine Solidarity Campaign said they wanted to 'raise the Palestinian voice', with speakers from Palestine lining up to address the crowd at Piccadilly Gardens.
They included a young woman that lived in Palestine for three years, who proudly told the crowd she is a Mancunian and now lives without fear.
