Cristiano Ronaldo could reportedly lose around £8.4m if Serie A sides are allowed to slash their wage budget due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Italy have been the country worst affected by COVID-19 in Europe, with 4,032 people dying from the disease and 47,021 testing positive for it.
With the nation currently in lockdown and no football being played whatsoever, Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo are reporting that the Italian government are set to allow football clubs to cut their players' wages by between 20 and 30%.
If that happens then Juventus star Ronaldo would miss out on around £8.4m in future wages. The Portuguese forward is currently in self-isolation back in his hometown of Funchal in Madeira alongside his girlfriend
