The singer - who was previously married to Kurt Cobain - said she was close to dying from anaemia, a condition in which you lack healthy red blood cells to carry enough oxygen to your body's tissues.
Telling fans she's "been sad, and extremely sick", Courtney opened up about her terrifying health scare. "Debilitated, in indescribable pain and in August at 97 pounds almost died in hospital from anemia (hemoglobin I had none)," she wrote. "I was stigmatized for being an addict for 9 months
