An Irish man could face up to 25 years in prison after being accused of a vicious attack in Australia which left the victim with stab wounds to his head and body.
Oliver Solan, 30, was also left with a partially severed ear and remains in a serious but stable condition following surgery.
He was found by neighbours slumped in an apartment hallway following the attack in Sydney, New South Wales, on Saturday night.
Police and paramedics descended on Young Street in Randwick on the city's east side following the incident just before 9pm local time.
