A bid to allow student flats in Riverside to be used by summer holidaymakers has been knocked back by councillors.Owners of the student accommodation at Riverside Quay wanted to offer the premises as short-term holiday lets from June 1 until August 31 every year.The company - UK PBSA (Forthside Way Stirling) Ltd - submitted a planning application to Stirling Council seeking a variation of a condition of the original planning permission for the 209-bed building which restricted the development for student use only.Eight Riverside residents, however, plus Riverside Community Council objected to the proposal over concerns it could make local parking issues worse and that a suggestion that people would be prepared to park half a mile away.
