Council open public toilets in Piccadilly Gardens to help make city 'as welcoming as possible'

A set of five loos have been set up in the Gardens opposite Morrisons. A sign says they will be open between 10am-8pm every day.

In a statement, Manchester Council said the facilities were brought in as a temporary measure as many indoor venues remain closed.

Restrictions are set to be further eased on 17 May. The topic of toilet provision in the city centre has proven controversial in recent years.
