Coronation Street cast members aged 70 and over will be written out of the soap as the coronavirus outbreak continues. The older actors on set will be removed from upcoming scenes to all them to follow Government advice to social distance in an effort to slow the spread of the virus.
Corrie has six full-time actors over 70, all of whom remain at home and are currently social distancing themselves. The cast members aged 70 or over are Bill Roache who plays Ken Barlow, Audrey Roberts star Sue Nicholls, Barbara Knox who plays Rita Sullivan, Malcolm Hebden who plays Norris Cole and Evelyn Plummer actress Maureen Lipman.
