Coronation Street's Katie McGlynn, who played Sinead Tinker, was announced as one of this year's Strictly Come Dancing contestants.

But it has been reported, fellow star Lucy Fallon who played Bethany Platt on the ITV soap was also eyeing up a spot on the nation's favourite dance competition.

It comes after both actors are no longer in the show, with Katie's character having died and Lucy's having left Weatherfield for London.

While Katie has a part in Hollyoaks, it seems Lucy is in between jobs and apparently had been "considering the reality TV route" with the intention to dance her way to lifting up the Glitterball Trophy.
