Coronation Street’s David Platt to be diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, claim fans

CORONATION Street fans have claimed that David Platt will be diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder after he displayed worrying signs of the mental illness.

The ITV soap character, played by Jack P. Shepherd, has started to become more and more unpredictable, with his erratic behaviour even seeing him confront and provoke a local gang.

Writing on a soap forum, one viewer said: "Does David have a mental illness? "David does unpredictable things like with that gang etc, and then I saw an article about Borderline Personality Disorder and it really reminded me of him?" Another replied: "I do think David does fit a lot of the criteria for BPD and in a world where male mental health is being (rightly) highlighted, David will be a good.
