Coronation Street's Jack P Shepherd has hinted at a devastating exit for his character David Platt. In tonight’s heart-stopping episode, David is involved in a terrifying crash that could be fatal.

Desperate and indebted to villain Harvey Gaskell, he sees no way out but to stage his own demise to save his loved ones. In the anticipated series' twist, David conspires with a crook to hit him with a car, aiming to vanish his troubles once and for all.

But the plan spirals when Shona sees the collision unfold, and Daisy finds herself embroiled in the wreck too. Chatting on This Morning today, Jack shared: "I think he thinks it's the only way. "He's got into a pickle owing money and Max is now in prison.

He feels this is the only way to clear all the debt and his family will be better off without him." Jack then teased the potential "end" of his iconic Corrie role, as he approaches 25 years on the ITV soap.
