A police cordon is in place outside the Manchester Science Park following an early hours attack. Officers were called to the scene on Pencroft Way, just off Oxford Road in Manchester city centre, at around 1.30am this morning (Friday).

Pictures show a cordon in place around a grassed area with benches, with one police vehicle stationed on the scene. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Police were called to reports of an assault on Pencroft Way at around 1.30am this morning.
