Police shut down an illegal gathering to protest coronavirus lockdown measures in Glasgow today. Around 40 demonstrators were in attendance at a planned event in Glasgow Green from 12pm today.
Flyers circulating on social media this week had advertised “unified peaceful mass gatherings” at parks around the UK this afternoon.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing small crowds gathering in the Glasgow park from around 12pm, and police officers on the scene to move them on.Police Scotland said enforcement action would be taken as a last resort.Campaigners were reported to be chanting "Nicola Sturgeon is a traitor" and "we are not livestock" before being led away by police.Another protester was captured on video shouting: "Listen to me, Scotland.
